Dr. Susan Tighe

Dr. Susan Tighe, PhD, PEng, FCAE, FCSCE, FEIC, C.Dir., is President and Vice-Chancellor and a Professor of Civil Engineering at McMaster University. Dr. Tighe has fostered a robust support system across McMaster, facilitating the translation of research and knowledge into tangible initiatives that benefit the economy, society, public policy, health, the environment, and quality of life. She is a supporter of McMaster’s nuclear research infrastructure, which provides unique learning experiences for students and prepares them for careers in nuclear. With a distinguished career as a professional civil engineer and academic, and with more than $26 million in research funding, Dr. Tighe uses her experience to advance McMaster’s strategic initiatives while building strong partnerships with industry and government partners.
