Ryan Simpson is a professional engineer with 20 years of experience in the Canadian nuclear industry, with specific expertise in the areas of instrumentation and control systems, computer system engineering, and fuel channel inspection and maintenance systems.
Ryan began his career at Systemware Innovation Corporation (SWI) as a consultant to many large organizations in the energy and oil & gas sectors. Throughout his career, Ryan has contributed to significant nuclear projects in the areas of refurbishment tooling, waste management automation, reactor inspection tooling, and fuel channel data analysis leveraging AI.
Shortly after SWI was acquired by Alithya in 2017, Ryan took on the role of Vice President of Engineering, overseeing Alithya’s digital technology implementations in the Canadian nuclear industry and positioning Alithya as a trusted technology advisor to Canadian utilities.
Ryan is a strong advocate for women in STEM and is an active member in the Women in Nuclear and Ontario Tech University Women for STEM mentorship programs.
